We have created this webpage to model assumed parcel loadings as defined in regulations being considered by the Wareham Board of Health in January 2011.
The current draft Board of Health regulations have margins of safety built into them, so the calculation on this page will be somewhat higher than some of the other calculators on this website. The most important elements of the draft Wareham Board of Health regulations are as follows:
Septic Loading is 5 lbs per bedroom.
Lawn Loading is 9.40 lbs per acre.
Pavement Runoff Loading Rate is 15.13 lbs per acre.
Roof Runoff Loading Rate is 7.57 lbs per acre.
Natural Landscape Loading Rate is 0.45 lbs per acre.
For commercial Properties, effluent concentration is 26.25 ppm (MEP value).

The draft Wareham Board of Health regulations base residential parcel loading on the numbers of bedrooms, area of lawn, and areas of impervious (roof and pavement). Change the boxes shaded yellow.
The values preloaded into this calculator are close to typical for residential parcels (1500 sq. ft. paved per lot, 1500 sq. ft. roof per lot, and 5000 sq ft lawn per lot).
Subdivision Nitrogen Loading Calculator
The draft Wareham Board of Health regulations base subdivision parcel loading on numbers of bedrooms, area of lawn, and areas of impervious (roof and pavement). Pavement includes both road area and driveway and paved walkways. This calculator allows quick preliminary estimates for different size subdivisions, but the area fields should be filled with actual data for the subdivision. Change the boxes shaded yellow.
The values preloaded into this calculator are typical for subdivisions (10% of subdivision parcel area for roads, 1500 sq. ft. paved per lot, 1500 sq. ft. roof per lot, and 5000 sq ft lawn per lot).
Commercial Parcel Nitrogen Loading Calculator
The draft Wareham Board of Health regulations base commercial parcel loading on Title 5 design flows, area of lawn, and areas of impervious (roof and pavement). Title 5 design flows should be based on stated Title 5 design flows in the permit application, however, a quick estimate of design flows can be obtained with our Title 5 Design Flow Calculator. Change the boxes shaded yellow.
The values preloaded into this calculator are close to typical for residential parcels (1500 sq. ft. paved per lot, 1500 sq. ft. roof per lot, and 5000 sq ft lawn per lot). Use design flows from Board of Health Permit application, or make a preliminary estimate with our Title 5 Design Flow Calculator.
